Sonia co-chairs Aviva Origins, and has driven fundamental change at Aviva through providing leadership on race and ethnicity, partnering with the Central Diversity Team on diversity mentoring, rolling out unconscious bias training for managers, and developing the Origins Internship Programme with the Social Mobility Foundation for underprivileged students. The group has held events and celebrations to educate and raise awareness, they delivered outreach for Ramadan, opened a purpose-built prayer/multi-faith room, changed the hospitality form and launched an Ethnic Minority Leadership Programme. Externally, Sonia is a Mentor and also sits on the committee of the Society of Asian Lawyers, leads the Asian Legal Awards and represents Aviva on the House of Lords Multi Cultural Professional Forum.
