Deon is Chair of Legal and General’s LGBT+ network and sits on the steering committee of the Culture and Ethnicity, and Gender networks. He works closely with HR to ensure that policies across the business are inclusive of all minorities and championed the Trans Inclusion policy in 2019. As a role model, he has helped the network relaunch, and discussed the challenges faced both as a gay man and an ethnic minority. He has also helped to develop a benchmarking tool to help businesses measure ethnicity inclusion and provided best practice guidance. Being one of the few out ethnic minorities in the financial services and insurance industry, Deon is a vocal advocate for inclusion and has appeared on several panels and keynotes discussing the topic.
