Fernando is the global Co-Chair of Standard Life Aberdeen’s (SLA) Unity Network with the aim to provide a platform for SLA’s ethnically diverse employees to influence policies and its workplace culture. He has led the #TalkAboutRace initiative to discuss the challenges faced by ethnic minority individuals in the workforce and has influenced key changes to existing policies by making the process transparent. In addition, Fernando is a Board Trustee for Project Scotland a charity that works to help young people, including ethnic minorities, to get on in life through volunteering in Scotland and he is a Mentor for Career Ready which helps young people enhance their capabilities and guides them through career decision making.
